You can select one or multiple claims and view text comparisons between each consecutive version of the claim. The most revolutionary feature, however, is that the tool displays a single Evolved Claim™ which shows, at a glance, all changes that occurred to the claim from the time it was introduced until the time it became a patented claim or was cancelled.

Collaborative Notes on the Patent File History through Patent Workbench®

Users can add notes to every section of the patent file history in the Patent Workbench® Reader:

  • Add notes to file history information sections in the File History module.
  • Add notes to individual claims in the Claims Matrix.
  • Add notes to individual references or entire reference sections.
  • Add notes to any paper of the patent file history in the PDF viewer.

All notes can be included in searches of the whole patent file history, and the entire notebook can be exported in .doc format.  Read on to learn how patent professionals can use the note features in Patent Workbench® to collaborate with their colleagues during the patent file history analysis process!

Exporting Information about the File History in Patent Workbench®

Flexible export capabilities are an important feature of the Patent Workbench® Reader, because they allow patent attorneys to export and share any patent file history paper, reference, note, Claims Matrix, or Evolved Claim™ that they produce or view within the Patent Workbench® Reader.  At the request of patent attorneys, the Patent Workbench® Reader even includes an option to export the Claim Tree produced within the Reader.  We’ve already looked at the PDF export options for patent file history documents; but what if the user wants to export the information about various documents within the patent file history?  The detailed information about the papers within the file history, such as links to particular sections in the paper, the Claims Summary, and the Special Notes by Landon IP’s experienced IP Researchers, can be selectively exported into a Microsoft Word document through two different methods.

User-Requested Features on Patent Workbench®: Claim Tree Export
